An Elderly Couple in Crisis with family at a distance
We were contacted by a daughter on behalf of her dad, who has Alzheimer’s, and is a diabetic who needs 24-hour care and support. Her stepmom had been hospitalized for a fall in which she incurred multiple fractures, so both were in the midst of a medical crisis.
Senior Resource Advisors was able to find just the right community for the couple, where the dad could get the care he needed and the stepmom could move in upon her recovery. We were also able to find the stepmom a new Primary Care Physician as well as the specialty providers she now needed. As her Medicare Benefits had lapsed, we were able to advocate to get her reinstated and also apply for her Social Security benefits.

We recently assisted a family that wanted their 93 year-old aunt who lived in Southern California to move to Eugene. Having family at a distance was taking a toll on everyone, but the aunt was very concerned about the prohibitive costs of care in California and was concerned about running out of money.
